Rerouting
of M6 and M7 Bus Routes
After
much haranguing with the mayor, city council and the community
boards about the rerouting of the M6 and M7 bus routes onto
14th street, the MTA has done research and apparently, starting
this Sunday, will reroute the M6 and maybe the M7 to 23rd
street instead. We have two M14 routes, the M9 and about
50 tour busses a day clogging the busiest crosstown street
in the city. The routing of the M6 and M7 was totally irresponsible
and an environmental disaster for us. Please contact your
city officials to try to get at least half of the noisy,
road clogging tour busses routed onto the very less traveled
23rd street too. We deserve a break down here. There are
sometime four of them waiting to make a left onto 7th avenue
and clogging traffic back to 5th avenue.
